Ignoring the charge is an option, but not a good one. Usually it will lead to you being found guilty of reckless driving which is a misdemeanor criminal offense. If you’re lucky, you will only receive a conviction and fine when you fail to appear. However, in a worst-case scenario, the judge can issue a warrant and have you arrested.
